Xcelience Gets Government Training Grant
November 30, 2006 (Tampa, FL) - Xcelience, a Tampa-based pharmaceutical contract manufacturer, received a training grant of $82,000 for further training of its employees, the government agency Worknet Pinellas announced today.
The grant was approved because Xcelience spends more than $5,000 on training each of its 54 employees. Worknet Pinellas is the local branch of Workforce Florida, a state organization which promotes economic growth through workforce development.
"Training is important in any industry, but it's crucial in our industry," said Derek Hennecke, Xcelience's CEO. "The science of formulation development is continually evolving, and we have to be confident our employees are on top of all the cutting edge information and ideas out there. This grant will help us hone our competitive edge and is important because our sponsors demand and deserve the very best from our employees. We attract sponsors who need high quality, speed and have a particular drug development challenge."
"The funds will be used to further train our associates in the fields of drug development, formulation development, GMP training, quality management, software training and more," added Hennecke.
The contract is valid through May 2007.
