Limit of Detection (LOD)

LOD is the lowest concentration of an analyte in a sample that can be detected, not quantitated, with the method parameters.

LOD is usually determined as a signal-to-noise ratio of 2:1 or 3:1 and is expressed as a percent of the target analytical concentration.
