Ruggedness
Ruggedness
Ruggedness is the degree of reproducibility of the results obtained under a variety of conditions. Ruggedness usually becomes a part of intermediate precision. Some types of conditions that are varied are:
•Analysis by different analysts of the same sample preparation.
•Analysis of the same sample preparation on different instruments or columns.
•Using different brand of reagents to prepare the sample or mobile phase.
•Varying the organic content of mobile phase or changing the pH by a few units.
•Performing the sample preparation on different days.
Ruggedness is usually reported as %RSD.
