Specificity

Specificity is the evaluation of a method to adequately separate the major active peaks from possible impurities and/or degradation products. Specificity is evaluated by stressing the drug product and/or drug substance under acidic, basic, oxidative, heat, and light conditions. Peak purity and peak resolution criteria are set to determine if the method provides proper resolution from any possible interfering peaks.
